Job description
- To lead the daily functions and activities of the outbound department
- Working autonomously to defined SOPs to consistently meet business, statutory and compliance needs
- Leading the team in order to meet requirements of the business
- Dealing with any issues that may arise in the team and ensuring they are escalated as needed
- Support the shift team as well as supporting teams and others to achieve targets
- Drives Continuous Improvement to improve quality and service levels
- Leadership and people management skills - experience of managing teams in an operations environment
- Compliance to all safe working, food safety and operational standards.
- Great communications, ensuring handovers best support the incoming shift and that day-to-day performance and activities are clearly explained and well understood.
- Helping to build and develop a high performing team
- Supporting the Operations Manager with reliable and accurate information and analysis regarding area performance
- Monitor daily performance and taking an initiative-taking approach to improve underperforming areas through coaching, training, and redeployment of skills, investigations & disciplinary action, as necessary
- Leading and encouraging active participation in daily meetings, reporting/highlighting any areas of concern
- Innovating new ways of working
- The security of company premises, including opening/closing procedures
