YHA Chester Trafford Hall are looking to recruit a Housekeeping Manager for 30 hours per week contract, flexible and could work up to 42.5 hours.

What will you be doing as Housekeeping Duty Manager?

Our Housekeeping Managers are responsible for the housekeeping operation within the hostel and supporting the management of an operational budget and delivery of KPI’s.  They have management responsibility for their team.

Your day-to-day duties may include:

Our housekeeping managers deputise for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the hostel’s daily operation in their absence, also support other YHA departments in the absence of the Duty Manager in that department. 

What Skills and Experience do you need to be a Housekeeping Duty Manager?

Our housekeeping manager role requires flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks. It’s an advantage but not essential that our housekeeping managers have worked in a face-to-face role with customers previously. Proven experience** of working with the hospitality industry would be advantageous and significant experience of housekeeping best practice, including the management and delivery of a quality service is essential. 

Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 within Customer Services, Hospitality, Tourism (desirable).  Experience working knowledge of health and safety compliance requirements, e.g., COSHH along with excellent numeracy skills, computer literacy (mainly excel) and experience of managing a team is essential.

Duties vary so good communication skills, excellent timekeeping and basic IT skills are advantages.

Knowledge and understanding of YHA’s core purpose and experience of working in a team are beneficial.

We offer a robust induction, ongoing training, and further development, however, some of our roles will have further skills requirements. It’s an advantage but not essential that our team members have experience volunteering or working with other people.
