Job description
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Based in the Engineering Department, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance on site. They will also be expected to respond to and resolve breakdowns in an efficient manner. This role plays an important part in the smooth running of the facility and will require an individual who can work unaided along with having a flexible attitude.
MAIN TASKS OF JOB:
Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance and inspections on all equipment, components and installations.
Provide prompt response whenever there is a breakdown and resolve the issue as quickly as possible including out of hours support.
Ensure that equipment is in good working order to prevent disruption of site activities.
Installation of mechanical & electrical components and fittings on plant, process and utilities.
Recommend replacement for old or faulty components or fittings.
Assist in forecasting requirements, creating a budget and scheduling expenses.
Ensure site drawings are current and maintained.
Coordinate energy audit and recommend energy saving opportunities.
Provide safe working environment for members of staff, and ensure accidents and mishaps are prevented.
Support maintenance of spares system.
Provide support as required to rest of engineering department.
Supervise works when new projects are undertaken.
Provide on site supervision of contractors including issuing of permits.
Support the Engineering and EHS Manager with EHS and engineering duties.
Comply with site regulations at all times, in particular with respect to GMP, health, safety and environment.
Partake in necessary training as directed and maintain personal training records.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, safety rules and regulations.
Be flexible to demands of the role.
