FULL DESCRIPTION
We have a requirement for Senior Environment Engineer to join a major global oil & gas operator in Aberdeen. 6 months contact – Agency Worker / PAYE. Hybrid working options is available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day-to-day environmental support to on- and offshore based NNS Teams - Field Operations, Drilling and Wells, Performance & Growth, Geosciences, etc. Acts as an environmental focal point for operational sites. Note – additional support options are available to assist with associated NNS well intervention / drilling activities.
- Maintains compliance with all NNS environmental permits and consents and prepares permit variations as required.
- Responsible for liaison with Regulatory bodies (DESNZ / OPRED mainly): permitting regime, inspections. Ensures compliance with UKSC specific environmental legislation and Company Rules in line with continuous improvement principles.
- Follows up of environmental incidents and non-compliances (reporting, actions close out, lessons learnt, etc).
- Directly involved in daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, annual and ad-hoc environmental reporting for NNS (internal & external - Regulatory, HQ, etc).
- Maintains compliance and supports the work program under ISO 14001 & ISO 50001 requirements including surveillance and re-certification internal and external audits, etc.
- Works with Carbon Footprint Reduction NNS focal point and Emissions Reduction Team to ensure Net Zero related targets are met, improvement ideas are processed for further implementation and major mile-stone projects are progressed in line with the Plan.
REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, i.e., engineering, or scientific subject preferably environmental engineering, marine biology or environmental related.
- Relevant environmental advisory work experience.
- Knowledge and understanding of UKSC specific environmental legislation.
- Environmental Management System Auditor - preferred.
- Trained in Oil Spill Response - optional.
- Possess current Offshore Survival Certificate and OGUK medical - preferred.
