Job Title: CNC Turner Setter
Job Type: Late shift, Perm
Hours: Mon-Thurs 14:00-00:30
Pay: £34,320 - £41,000 DOE
Location: Basingstoke
Our client has been established since 1998 specialising in the deep drilling and honing of complex high precision products evolving into the manufacture of cylinder liners and assembly of Formula 1 engine blocks and has expanded its expertise into the production of precision forged pistons. Today, they specialise in the design and manufacture of high-end precision engine components for the motorsport, niche OEM automotive, automotive aftermarket, and niche aero markets.
Qualifications / Experience
Essential
⦁ Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or Training Programme with a minimum of 2 years experience
⦁ Knowledge of Fanuc and Mazak controls an advantage
⦁ Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
⦁ Positive can-do attitude and willing to learn
⦁ Accurate numeracy skills and attention to detail
Desirable
⦁ Experience manufacturing precision components for Aerospace or Motorsport
Duties / Responsibilities
Main duties
⦁ Setting of Mazak and Fanuc control lathes
⦁ Selecting correct tools, fixtures and programs for CNC machines
⦁ Re-setting machines for operators when required
⦁ In cycle and final de-burring prior to passing on to the next stage of production
⦁ Reading engineering drawings and programme for CNC machines
⦁ Carry out in-process inspection to drawing specification using a variety of measuring equipment e.g., micrometres
⦁ Management of programming updates and programming for new components
⦁ Minor machine maintenance, cleaning machine and own area at end of your shift
⦁ Adhere to AS9100/ISO9001 QMS, Route cards and work instructions
⦁ Undertake other appropriate assigned dues by the Production Manager
⦁ Inform the Production Manager of any relevant problems that could affect production
