Job description
I am currently recruiting a head of finance to provide maternity cover on behalf of a technology company based in Cambridge. The role is due to start late April/beginning of May and will be for a minimum of 10 months.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role is responsible for overseeing all areas of the finance function. You will support the Finance Director as necessary, including on legal, regulatory and company secretarial matters. You will also support the senior management team with their strategic planning and decision making regarding the direction of the business.
Key responsibilities include;
- Managing the monthly internal financial and external reporting of the business as number one in terms of financial control, reporting any risks to the FD
- Overseeing the production of consolidated management and statutory accounts, budgets, forecasts and KPls, reviewing the results to question anomalies and ensuring the information is as accurate and useful as possible
- Work with the Finance Analyst monthly to discuss spend in different departments against budget and to ensure that they remain within budget for the remaining months of the financial year
- Providing the Finance Director and board with up to date actual and re-forecast information on performance against budget with quarterly reports, and obtaining input from the budget holders at the half year for a budget re-forecast to present to the Board
- Work closely with the transactional finance team, reviewing processes throughout the Finance function to improve efficiency, obtaining approval from the Finance Director where necessary
- Liaise with tax, audit teams, bankers, and other professional advisors, often being the key day to day point of contact
- Responsible for corporation tax, transfer pricing, VAT (including customs/duty/country of origin) and EMI compliance and reporting
- Updating the Annual Report and website for Corporate Governance compliance, seeking authorisation from the Board where necessary

Interested candidates should be qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent with relevant post qualification experience and you should be up to date with IFRS reporting standards.
This role can be worked on a hybrid bass with 3 days in the office.
