Support Worker based in Belfast.
Responsibilities
- The postholder will report to the Chief Executive and will work as part of the team and will be responsible for the provision of support to beneficiaries.
- Provide support, meet our beneficiaries, listen to them, research the relevant information and assist applicants in making an application for an award in accordance with requirements.
- Develop the Charitys relationships with beneficiaries, ensuring a consistent and high standard of service is provided.
- Assist potential applicants applying for the scheme, carry out all relevant research to assist them to complete their application form for assistance through the scheme.
- Signpost to the Benevolent Fund as appropriate.
- Act as an Ambassador increasing awareness of and encouraging support for the Scheme.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Comprehensive IT Skills and experience of using Microsoft Packages including word, PowerPoint and databases.
- Experience in dealing with a varied caseload.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Excellent people skills including interpersonal skills; empathy and compassion.
- Ability to think clearly and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including prioritising and managing own workload and managing competing deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and service discretion at all times.
- Friendly and professional manner.
- Comfortable talking to people face-to-face or over the phone.
