Job Summary
Position: Reporting Accountant
Department: Finance
Reports to: Head of Finance
Overview: The role is central to financial control, focusing on pricing and enhancing financial processes. It offers a chance for professional development within a small, senior-led finance team. The position includes a flexible working pattern, combining office-based and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate pricing for various investment funds.
- Oversee and maintain investment-related ledgers and journals.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of treasury, fund performance, and asset management fees.
- Drive improvements in processes from inception to regular operation.
- Employ systems to automate currently manual tasks.
- Execute a range of reconciliations, from daily to annual.
- Assist in closing monthly financial accounts.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc financial reports.
- Manage UK and international payments.
- Update and prepare reports on fund valuations.
- Offer support across the Finance department.
- Keep procedural and control documentation current.
- Participate in broader finance team activities, providing support where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in unit pricing and managing investment systems (e.g., InvestPro, pControl).
- Understanding of trade lifecycle, post-trade operations, and fund accounting.
- Solid background in financial reconciliations and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of best practices for unit-linked funds and financial controls.
- Desirable: Bloomberg, Invest Pro, and Sun general ledger experience.
- An accounting qualification is preferred but not essential.
