What you’ll do:
- To be responsible for all day-to-day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the Operations service and equipment within the contract specification to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
- Full clean drivers licence
- Ensure all areas are maintained to the high standard required.
- To undertake minor repairs to building fabric, services and equipment as requested by FM.
- Have full working knowledge of all tools, equipment, materials and agents and use equipment as directed by your FM manager only after correct training has been given.
- Report any safety hazards or inappropriate compromises to the FM Manager e.g. locked fire door, lifting flooring, lights not working, trip hazards etc
- Report any equipment which is faulty or may be a hazard.
- Ensure that the specified safety signage is used at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and “warn/advise” customers where possible.
- To be aware of material expenditure and cost and avoid unnecessary waste
- Ensure that all storage areas are kept clean and tidy and equipment stored safely at all times.
- Comply with all security regulations for materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Sodexo and report immediately any shortages or discrepancies found.
- Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and Company regulations, wearing company uniform as specified.
- Inform your FM manager of low levels of material stocks where appropriate so that new supplies can be re-ordered
- Supervise External Contracts according to Needs, ensuring they know their duties and carry out their work in accordance with Sodexo and client procedures and practices and Health & Safety Regulations to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
- To deal with Helpdesk Calls immediately within specified time reporting back to Helpdesk /FM Manager to mitigate financial penalties.
- Attend training courses and meetings as is necessary to maintain standards in the contract and assist in carrying out the job role efficiently (Some of which may occur outside normal working hours)
- Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness and holidays.
- Ensure all tools and equipment is kept clean & maintained in safe working order. Report any defects to the FM Manager immediately.
- Comply with all Company policies procedures and client site rules and regulations
- Comply with all Company & client policies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and chemical safety. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place
- Visually checking cables and plugs on equipment, promptly reporting any equipment that may require repair.
- Carry out all other reasonable tasks as directed by FM Manager
- To attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary from time to time. Some of which may occur outside normal working hours.
- To carry out reasonable periods of overtime as may be required from time to time.
- Flexible working hours to comply with school functions and additional tasks required to be complete outside school hours.
What you bring:
- Qualification in a recognised Trade such as electrical/plumbing/carpentry is an advantage
- Smoking NOT permitted on school campus.
- Maybe contacted outside hours for emergency issues.
- To work at pace and work well under pressure and to be able to prioritize workload.
- The role may include some form of strenuous physical activity. The incumbent must have the ability to undertake such duties.
- It is essential that the applicant provides good time keeping ensuring the smooth running of the service.
- To have a can-do attitude and proactive approach to work.
- To maintain good relationships with management team, peers and client.
- Work as part of a larger team on site
