Technical Compliance Manager - FTC (Maternity Cover)

The Job Role:
The day-to-day Management of the Quality Systems Team, HACCP, Quality Management Systems and the Customer Portals, Specification, and artwork approval ensuring compliance with all relevant regulation, legislation, and codes of practice.
Maintenance and development of the implemented HACCP & Quality Management System, ensuring good manufacturing practice (GMP) is always adopted.
Location: Shropshire
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of industry-leading standards, procedures, policies, and associated recording mechanisms for the facility which ensure the business operates within current regulation, legislation and codes of practice relating to food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, traceability.
Ongoing management of the sites HACCP and Quality Management Systems.
Manage and continuously assess OSI global quality expectations and [GQE] and policies, updating maintaining in-house systems and communicating as appropriate.
Active member of the site HACCP Team.
Management of customer portals, on-line systems, specifications, and artwork.
Actively involved in the creation and management of a comprehensive schedule of internal audit, ensuring compliance with BRCGS and customer standards / policies.
Support the implementation of a culture of continuous improvement through right first-time, root cause analysis and sustainable corrective action. Systems of internal auditing to be aligned with operational targets for ownership and accountability.
Directly support the site senior technical management team with BRCGS certification process and customer and third-party audits.
Development of the Quality Systems Team, ensuring that they have training and development plans in place.
Active involvement in KPI daily, weekly, and monthly management, showing continuous improvement and sustainable corrective action.
Work constructively with senior technical management team, executive, commercial, procurement and other functional colleagues and teams to deliver results.
Key site contact for all customers regarding customers systems and complaints. Ensuring the customer complaints database is maintained and developed.
To play a prominent role in the technical aspect of critical incident management at site level in the event of any situation.
Management of the sites system for the management of existing suppliers, proposed new suppliers and any raw material development including any procurement projects, working both closely with the business Procurement team and supply base.
Management of the site's food safety culture, to help prevent deviation in the process that impacts the safety, quality, and legality of our products.
Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures which are relevant to both the site and the working environment.
Any other duties as deemed reasonable by your line manager or senior management to assist with the operation of the business.
Candidate Requirements:
In-depth working knowledge HACCP and Quality Management Systems.
In-depth working knowledge of BRCGS global standards.
In-depth working knowledge of Customer Portals, specifications, and artwork approval
Relevant industry experience.
Easy communication style, able to effectively influence cross functional teams and build sound rapport with customers and suppliers to the benefit of the business.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and demonstrates continuous improvement and passion.
Attention to detail coupled with ability to work at fast pace and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
Proven effective people management skills.
Experience of working in a matrix organisation.
Able to anticipate issues, correct in advance of manifestation, respond to developments appropriately and involve the right people.
HACCP and / or Advanced Food Hygiene qualification.
Relevant and current BRCGS training.
