Job description

The Perse is one of the country’s leading co-educational independent day schools, providing a high-quality education to pupils aged 3-18 in Cambridge.

The Learning Support Department works closely with pupils, staff and parents to ensure that pupils’ needs are identified and met as they progress through the school. The Learning Support Department aims to offer a secure and relaxed learning environment to promote pupil confidence, self-esteem and independent learning.
We are seeking a highly organised and flexible individual to join our Learning Support team as a Learning Support Assessor and Access Arrangements Coordinator from September 2024 for a fixed term of one year. The successful candidate must have a current SPLD Assessment Practicing Certificate or other appropriate qualification.
The role incorporates three important areas - provision of specialist assessments of pupils’ specific learning difficulties, coordination of access arrangement administration and applications for concessions via the Joint Council for Qualification (JCQ). We are looking for someone with a passion for helping pupils with special educational needs and disabilities achieve their true potential as well as an understanding of specific learning difficulties and neurodivergence. Excellent organisational skills along with a high degree of flexibility is essential for the role.
