Job description

Are you a Children's Registered Nurse looking for a better work-life balance?

Do you have experience providing clinical care for a complex care provider or within A&E, critical care, or an ICU setting?

Are you looking for a new opportunity where you can share your expertise withothers and play a critical role in a nurse-led service?

If you’re looking for your next career move, why not consider a career as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with us?

You will play a key role in our organisation working as a part of our operational team based at our local office as well as within our service users homes.

Taking clinical ownership of your service user case load, by creating, managing, and continually reviewing their bespoke care plans, which are all tailored to meet their individual needs.

Working closely alongside the operational team you will lead on the delivery of training for our Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers, ensuring they are competent and confident in delivering every aspect of their role, including the specific clinical tasks required for each of your services users. You’ll spearhead a compliant, high-quality, person-centred care service.

Reviewing clinical paperwork and completion of MAR Charts is an essential requirement of this role, as well as building great relationships with our service users and their care teams.

Therefore, we’re seeking highly skilled Registered Nurses who are proficient and competent in the delivery of Tracheostomy Care and Ventilation Management.

It would be beneficial if you also had knowledge and awareness of spinal injury care and working with service users and/or patients with degenerative and or neurological conditions.

In addition to this, you’ll be responsible for providing ongoing mandatory training and development to ensure our healthcare professionals are trained to national standards and up to date with the latest requirements and best practice guidance.

It’s a specialist role that requires clinical expertise along with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads. We’re looking for someone who shares our values and is as passionate about care as we are.

You will be based at your local Apollo Home Healthcare office in St Helens, but some flexibility is required as you will be travelling to clients homes across the Merseyside area.

We are confident that by joining our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, we can offer you the work-life balance that you have been seeking by offering you core working hours between 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

The salary for this role is between £38,000 - £45,000, which is in line with NHS Band 6/7 role.

You’ll be part of our bonus scheme where you could earn up to £3,000 and also enjoy our sector-leading reward and recognition scheme.

If this sounds like the role for you, or if you’d like to know more, please apply to register your interest.

Each application will be considered in line with the needs of our local teams, but it is essential that you hold a valid NMC Pin, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience post qualification and are a driver with access to a vehicle.

Read below for a further insight on this role from Tracey, our Head of Clinical and Quality Delivery:

"The Clinical Nurse Specialist role offers nurses the best of both worlds with a combination of office-based duties such as delivering training, supporting the wider team and writing care plans with patient contact where you will spend time in the field building relationships with your patients and their families, developing bespoke care plans and upskilling HCA’s to deliver clinical tasks.

The role is predominantly Monday to Friday 9-5, with some flexibility to meet the specific needs of your caseload, but you will always receive time back. This can sound to good to be true, but is just another example of the benefits of being part of the Apollo Home Healthcare team."
