Job description
This post would suit someone with experience of the role or with lead invigilator experience in a similar setting. The ideal candidate will have experience within a school examinations team and previous experience of managing a team would be valuable. Essential skills for this role include the ability to remain calm under pressure and a high attention to detail.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Management and administration of all aspects of external and internal examinations
- Providing administrative support for the Assistant Head Teacher responsible for examinations and data
- Working with the SENCo to provide Access Arrangements for exam students in accordance with JCQ regulations
- Having detailed and up to date knowledge of the wide range of issues involved in the administration of external examinations; in particular examination board and JCQ regulations and deadlines.
- Line management of the team of internal invigilators and be responsible for their training according to JCQ regulations
- Management of awarding body online portals and administrator for users and ensure security and integrity at all times
The successful candidate will:
- have experience of managing an examinations hall and working with invigilators
- show evidence of professional development in this area
- be excited by the prospect of managing a team and joining the school
- be confident in using Excel and show an ability to pick up IT systems quickly
- have excellent written and verbal communication skills and an eye for detail
