About the Role:

This role requires an individual who loves motivating others, finding ways to truly engage teams, supporting our senior leaders and understands the importance of an inspired team in achieving our purpose of ‘Reimagining Medicine’.

In this leadership role, you will have a pivotal and diverse role in driving the company culture, Associate Engagement on business performance and will be a key member of the Communications and Engagement (C&E) leadership team. This role reports to the UK C&E Country Head and with significant responsibility for supporting the work of the Country Heads/ Country President in associate engagement. You will be encouraged to own, design, drive and lead local associate engagement, including leadership and site communications.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, own and implement the associate engagement strategy for the UK, designed to support and enable the local business strategy, as well as embedding the company culture. This will include leading (in partnership with local leadership and P&O) culture activation programs and activities to drive adoption of our Inspired, Curious and Unbossed culture in the local market.
• Provide expertise in Associate Engagement, leading, managing and improving internal communications channels in line with the local content and channels strategy, segmenting audiences and tailoring messages and channels to the different internal target audiences.
• Mentor senior management of internal communications (incl. effective message delivery and engagement); select and train internal spokespeople, anticipating and identifying internal communication opportunities and issues.
• Use data and insights to help shape the strategic approach to employee engagement programs to always ensure that the needs of the customers (our associates) are understood and at the heart of what we do; and utilise measurement data to show the impact of the activity.
• Work as an active participant of the Europe region network to ensure timely sharing of information, best practices and to effectively manage issues with a potential Regional fallout.
• Collaboratively develop internal communication strategy and plan, along with the P&O group, Regional and global. Implement effective communication of key internal messages to increase employee engagement.
• Manage the establishment, development and coordination of communication internal plans including leader engagements and activations.
• Be part of the change management team of post T4G actions and delivery.
• Content strategy and development, using the external environment and customer in approach.
• Execution of issues / crisis communications programs.
• Work collaboratively with all stakeholders within the C&E team and in multiple different functions, finding common grounds across boundaries.

Role Requirements

Essential requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (e.g., BSc) / University Diploma or equivalent
• Operations management and execution, cross cultural experience, project management.
• Extensive years’ experience within communications and/ or Associate Engagement and/or internal communications with skills and experience including Channel utilisation, Creative writing for various channels, Storytelling, media relations, visual communication, audience / stakeholder mapping and segmentation.
• Project excellence and a desire to deliver high quality engagement.
• Operational excellence and ability to deliver both long term and short-term projects simultaneously.
• Business understanding: strong business environment with Communications responsibilities either internally or externally.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Digital and tech savvy and knowledge of the most current approaches to Associate Engagement is desirable.
