Salmoni Opticians are looking for a full-time Optical Assistant to join us in delivering outstanding patient care.

 

During the weekdays, Monday to Friday, the hours are from 9:00 to 17:30. However, one day during the week will be designated as a day off, and this day will vary from week to week.

In addition, this role entails working on most Saturdays, with working hours set from 9:00 to 15:15.

 

The hourly rate is £11.44 for individuals aged 21 and over, and £8.60 for those aged 20 and under.

 

As an Optical Advisor, you will play an essential role in assisting customers with their optical needs. This position requires a strong understanding of optical products, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. You will be responsible for helping customers choose the right eyewear, providing expert advice on lens options, and ensuring their overall satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

 

- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner.

- Perform thorough pre-screening examinations to accurately assess patients vision and eye health.

- Conduct comprehensive eyewear consultations with customers to understand their needs and preferences.

- Provide expert advice on lens options, including coatings, tints, and materials.

- Assist customers in selecting frames that suit their style, face shape, and prescription requirements.

- Accurately measure customers' pupillary distance and ensure proper frame adjustments for a comfortable fit.

- Process orders and sales transactions.

 

Requirements:

 

- Previous experience in a similar role within the optical industry is preferred but not essential; full training will be given.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers.

- Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately measure and adjust frames.

- Sales-oriented mindset with a focus on meeting or exceeding sales targets.

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
