Location: Hybrid 23 days per week in Cheltenham

Please note:

This role requires SC clearance and in future will require DV clearance. Active SC or DVis not required (although it is highly desirable)but you must be eligible to pass SC and DVclearance to be considered.

About the role:

Cloudscaler are seeking multiple Lead Platform Engineers who will be thought leaders within our engineering practice leading customers through complex cloud transformations with extensive knowledge of platform and site reliability engineering best practise.

Responsibilities:

• Designing complex multitenant systems aligned to bestpractice
• Building testing packaging deploying and operating cloud platforms alongside shared platform tooling within AWS environments
• Automating the build of infrastructure resources within AWS
• Packaging services into AMIs Docker containers or Serverless deployments
• Championing infrastructure of code and opinionated about infrastructure as code structure and modularisation
• Providing thought leadership to colleagues and customers

Technical Skills:

• Experience automating the build of complex AWS Services and Cloud Platforms using IaC
• Understands how to scope container/microservices to design Cloud solutions
• Understands deployment techniques to enable zero downtime
• Experience designing complex Cloud systems or platforms and the ability to assess tradeoffs with design options
• Experience defining technical direction and strategy of teams and systems
• Knowledgeable about the key security risks that are present when using AWS and how they can be detected remediated and mitigated
• Experience of mitigating security risks in AWS and supporting a mature Cloud Security Model
• Experience with key AWS security services
• Experience building deploying and operating Docker containers and an appreciation of how to scope containers/microservices appropriately
• An appreciation of the software delivery lifecycle within a teambased environment and experience with continuous integration/deployment
• An understanding of the challenges and priorities of operating services and how SRE principles can be applied
