As a valued member of this Stafford-based business, you will assume the pivotal position of Finance Assistant. Your role will encompass a range of essential bookkeeping duties, including the meticulous preparation of Management Accounts. From overseeing the purchase ledger and managing the coding and inputting of purchase invoices to handling payments and addressing supplier queries – your expertise will be indispensable. Additionally, your proficiency in reconciling bank statements and skill in preparing VAT returns will be put to good use. You’ll also play a crucial role in managing end-of-month journals, including responsibilities such as wages, depreciation, prepayments, accruals, and conducting thorough reviews of nominal ledgers and control accounts.
In return for your dedicated contributions, this client offers an attractive salary ranging from £23,000 to £30,000, based on experience. The role entails a 35-hour work week, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, you will benefit from an Auto Enrolment Pension plan and the convenience of free parking. Working hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, with Fridays finishing at 4:00pm, providing a rewarding schedule to suit your lifestyle.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring to the table a commendable track record of 3+ years in UK-based accounts. Your impeccable written and oral communication skills, coupled with your ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment and work independently, will be highly valued. Your solid grounding in general accounting skills, combined with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines, will set you apart. While not mandatory, having pursued AAT studies would be considered a plus.
