Salary: £160.51 per day
To provide subject matter expertise supporting the Engineering and Technical Manager to ensure the successful implementation of the Highways Improvement Programme. The post holder will be the responsible point of point of contact for the supply chain regarding all technical assurance queries relating to the programme. It involves working closely with each scheme engineer and the contractor to ensure a consistent design and quality of construction across the programme that enables the end state to be operated on a business-as-usual basis.
Qualification
Preferably, a relevant degree or professional qualification or an equivalent combination of qualification and experience together with demonstrable skills and aptitude.
Key Knowledge
Demonstrable understanding of a range of specialist transport/traffic/highway packages and CAD.
Appropriate knowledge of highway and traffic management scheme design, current and forthcoming legislation, relevant design standards and specifications.
A thorough knowledge of project management techniques and their application to a range of highways schemes
Relevant Experience
Experience of working on technical schemes within a quality assured working environment.
Experience of working within a project team to agreed outputs to agreed deadlines.
Understanding of contract management and supervision.
An understanding of sustainable travel and the links with regeneration and the built environment
Experience of attending public meetings.
Experience of working with and contributing to multi -disciplinary teams, using your own problem solving skills.
