General Manager, Green Lodge Care Home

£35k pa

As the General Manager you will take full responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager. You will lead the team and maintain the high standards set throughout the organisation.

You will plan, monitor and deliver the highest standards of person-centred care to residents, ensuring that everyone is treated with respect and dignity, and that individual’s rights to privacy, dignity, independence, and choices are met. The General Manager will supervise and evaluate the care delivered to residents always ensuring that legal and Orchard Care Home standards are met.

Main duties

• To act as the person in charge of the home in the absence of the Manager ensuring that legislation is adhered to and standards are maintained ensuring that the Orchard Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.
• In the absence of the Home Manager lead and assist the home in handling residents’ personal finances ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
• To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, ensuring clear and appropriate individual care plans are in place for all residents to effectively provide for their individual needs.
• In the absence of the Home Manage to lead and support all Safeguarding concerns are appropriately investigated.
• To have a clear understanding of Infection Prevention and Control policies, procedures and measures, to ensure that all care teams and other staff maintain a safe environment throughout the home.
• To lead in the formulation of individual care plans for each resident and administer medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and stock control of residents’ prescribed medication.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience of working in a similar environment
• NVQ3 in Direct Care Willing to work towards Level 5 Leadership and Management for Adult Care Qualification
• Strong team player
• Good communication skills, able to put others at ease
• Supervisory/leadership skills
• Willing to develop management skills
