Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Kent/Sussex
Reporting to: Head of Commercial
Department: Commercial
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in maintaining commercial control over various project costs and valuations. Working closely with our dynamic commercial team, you'll contribute to cost management, progress data validation, and accurate reporting to clients and stakeholders.
Key Competencies:
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, with a preference for candidates working towards a Diploma or Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying.
Contract Knowledge: Familiarity with NEC 3 & 4 Contracts is advantageous, coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Numeracy and IT Skills: Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, are essential for this role.

Accuracy and Timeliness: You'll be responsible for providing accurate and timely information to support commercial operations.

Contract Administration: Assist in administering contract records and managing subcontract payments, including negotiation of variations.
Data Reconciliation: Collate accurate information for monthly cost/value reconciliations and generate weekly cost/value reports.
Financial Reporting: Support the production of financial and statistical reports as required by the commercial team.
Collaboration: Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
Continuous Improvement: Assist in target cost generation and contribute to the improvement of commercial processes.
