Job description
We are looking for an Interim Service/Home Manager for one of our clients in the North Essex region. They are a residential care home that care for older people. You will be responsible for leading and managing the home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for their residents.
As the Interim Service Manager, you will:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the home, including staff management, budgeting, and administration
- Implement and monitor improvement plans to address any areas of concern or underperformance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control
- Provide personal care and support to the residents, respecting their dignity, preferences, and choices
- Communicate effectively with the residents, their families, and other professionals
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and development
- Liaise with the senior management and external agencies, such as CQC, local authority, and health services
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent qualification
- Experience of working as a home/service or registered manager, or a similar role, in a residential care home
- Experience of leading and managing a team of staff
- Experience of turning around a failing or struggling service
- Knowledge of person-centred care, older people care, and best practice
- Ability to work flexibly

This is an interim role, with a flexible contract length, depending on the needs of the service. We would also consider offering a permanent position to the right candidate, subject to satisfactory performance and CQC registration.
