Due to promotion an exciting opportunity for a new 8a theatre matron position has arisen. Theatres is one of the largest departments here at CUH covering Ely Day Surgery Unit, Main theatres, Addenbrooke’s Treatment centre, Rosie and Neurosurgery Theatres along with the new Ortho Surgical hub. You will be working closely with other Theatre Matrons, Theatre Band 7s team as well as with other Divisional colleagues. Our theatre Matrons support the Senior Leadership team to ensure the outstanding performance and patient care- this is an incredible important role in the division.
You will effectively lead and develop the Theatre teams and you will be an excellent communicator, upholding the Values and Behaviours of the Trust and will have a proven track record in influencing others. You will be passionate about maintaining high standards in Theatres, building strong professional relationships with the Team that work in and access theatres. Strong leadership and management skills are essential to be successful in this role. You will be liaising with the operational teams to ensure service improvements initiatives are driven forward and will be supported to develop these skills further. You will work closely with the Divisional Head of Nursing and Perioperative Care Operational Manager to reach your potential and develop in this role.
The post holder will:
Provide professional and managerial leadership to the clinical/theatre teams within their designated areas, providing a highly visible and authoritative presence ensuring the provision of high quality services, responsive to the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery.
Be accountable for all clinical aspects of quality & safety within the service.
Work in partnership with Divisional Head of Nursing and the wider Divisional Management Team to ensure effective and efficient management of services to meet agreed standards within the resources available.
Maintain a visible clinical presence acting as a role model upon whom patients, visitors and staff can rely for support to ensure that the fundamental and specialist aspects of care are met. This includes working clinical shifts.
Support the Divisional Head of Nursing by leading and developing Nurses and ODPs, their clinical practice and meaningful improvements to patient care.
