PMO Manager - Inside IR35

Contract Term: 18 Months

Contracting Authority: AWE

Location: Hybrid – Remote & 2 days p/w in Aldermaston, Reading.

Job Purpose:

To support the Transformation Lead by providing an effective PMO that serves as a centre of standardisation and coherence for the various workstreams and projects, enabling them to deliver to time, quality, cost and compliant with AWE and relevant government processes.

As a PMO Manager, your main responsibilities will be: 

• Effectively managing the integrated schedule for the transformation programme – ensuring the proactive management of deliverables inc. escalation of risks & issues using MS Project.
• Effectively managing programme finance inc. robust forecasting & rigorous budget profiling.
• Implementing the quality & assurance management strategy, ensuring the programme delivers to specification with proportionate reviews undertaken at defined times with appropriate follow-up actions swiftly implemented.
• Drafting relevant programme reports, briefings & artefacts.
• Implementing the information management plan, ensuring correct access to information whilst complying with AWE’s information management processes.
• Maintaining programme master data & assumptions list.

SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.

You’ll have:

• Demonstrable PMO & project delivery experience inc. resource management (people, budgets, equipment).
• Excellent stakeholder management skills – internal & external stakeholders.
• The ability to read, analyse & interpret charts, spreadsheets and schedules.
• Clear & concise communication approaches, both oral & written – ability to compile & present presentations to peers and senior managers.
• MS Office & MS Project proficiency.
• A relevant Project Management qualification e.g. APM – desirable.
• Membership of a relevant professional body – desirable.
