Production Manager - Steel Fabrication.
PROFILE:
Our client delivers quality and competitive foundations to all superstructures as well as bridges gantries within the Road and Railway environment and across industry.
HOURS/DAYS
40 hours per week.

MAIN OBJECTIVES
As Production Manager you will be reporting directly to the Head of Production>
The role will be to lead and direct the overall engineering and fabrication activities for all Fabrication Projects. You will ensure the timely completion of works and conformity to client standards and specifications. You will liaise with the design staff, subcontractors, Project Engineers and clients to ensure that all project related issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will also Ensure high safety standards are adhered to by ensuring compliance with Rules and Regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
(please note this is not an exhaustive list of duties but represents the main requirements of the role)
Attend Inter-Disciplinary Project and Technical reviews as directed.
Carry out design checking and fabrication checking.
Attend all technical and safety briefings as directed.
Adequately communicate and explain designs to Fabrication Teams.
Accept and operate within budgets adhering to cost control processes to support target delivery in accordance with company procedures.
Carry out and adhere to company policy and procedures.
Assist in the production of the weekly, monthly and forecast production plan and brief weekly to all staff.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff and suppliers.
Assist / Support Project Managers engaging with clients representatives to ensure all information requirements have been issued.
You will liaise with the Head of Production, other project engineers, workshop managers and the QA team to ensure the final product is correct to both drawings and standards.
Take overall accountability for the formation of target costs and construction estimates for the project
Attend ‘technical review’ meetings internally to ensure compliance with latest specifications are being met.
In conjunction with Procurement Team ensure that all project materials and subcontractor quotes are in line with pricing.
Capture variations and change requests to ensure construction and commercial risk exposure is reduced. Participate in the production of designs within agreed timescales
Prepare sub-contract documentation for specialist suppliers for sub-contact works.
Attend project start up meetings to ensure Fabrication works are represented correctly.
Produce Programme of works for all schemes to ensure other project managers within the business have the information to supply to client teams.
Attend Inter-Disciplinary reviews as directed
Ensure that capacity plan are updated on a regular basis and peaks and troughs are escalated accordingly.
On occasion you may be required at times to travel to the clients offices to attend design, progress and site meetings and also carry out quality inspections of sub-contracted work at their premises.
A small amount of travel is required for this position both in the Northwest and UK.
Person Specification
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
You will be required to have a good knowledge of the latest BS standards and demonstrate a good understanding of the latest CE marking requirements. Training in these areas can be provided if required. Ensure ISO 9001 and CE marking and BS EN 1090 are adhered to.
You will be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of corrosion protection systems, mainly galvanising and painting.
A knowledge of Microsoft office is required.
