Job description
Forth Ports are excited to be hiring a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice to join their Engineering team based at one of our Scottish ports in Grangemouth. In this four-year programme, you'll dive headfirst into the dynamic world of mechanical engineering. Get ready to gain hands-on experience, while working towards a professional qualification and a chance to earn while you learn. By the end of the programme, you'll be a fully-fledged engineer, ready to continue your career in this fast-paced industry! Join us and kick-start your path to success!
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, and will commence employment in August 2024. Please note that we require all candidates to be a minimum of 16 years of age before the start date.
About The Role
What you will learn:
You'll play a vital role in supporting the engineering team to assist in various projects across the Port including carrying out the maintenance and repairs of all Port plant and infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced engineers to find solutions to any issues that occur. As following safety protocols and procedures is paramount in any engineering environment, you'll receive training on safety practices and be expected to adhere to them at all times.

What are we looking for?
You will have a head start if you have already completed a Foundation Apprenticeship in a related field
A minimum of three National 5 qualifications including Nat 5 Maths, Nat 5 English and Nat 5 in Technical Subject
A demonstrated interest in Engineering
We do require all individuals who work at our port to be a minimum 16 years of age (by Aug 2024)
