Job description
Audit Quality Manager RCA (3599)
Job Purpose
Our audit work and audit teams are supported by the Audit Quality Support Team (AQST) who deliver the foundations for audit quality in the form of policies, procedures, templates, guidance and training in line with the Group Mazars audit approach and relevant auditing, ethical and accounting standards.
Our AQST plays a vital role in supporting our audit practice. In this role, you will be part of a growing and dynamic team responsible for the monitoring and remediation process, primarily the Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs).
In recent years there has been a transition when responding to quality review findings to not just setting out an action plan to address a key failing or issue, but to understanding why it happened, with the objective of preventing it re-occurring.
A key objective of RCA is to improve audit quality by having a better understanding of how audits can improve. It is part of a continuous improvement cycle of inspecting audits, identifying deficiencies, investigating the root causes for deficiencies, and improving the firms' ability to act on them through implementing effective remedial actions.
The implementation of International Standard on Quality Management (ISQM) 1 and increased importance and benefits gained from RCA has led the firm to seek a new resource in the RCA team as part of our commitment to continuously improve audit quality.
The role involves interaction with various stakeholders, to understand root causes of quality findings or deficiencies highlighted through internal and external review processes or through ISQM1 evaluation.
Additionally, the role involves managing the PIRs process. PIRs is a process of reviewing and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of a remedial action that has been completed and operational for a period of time.
This is a high-profile role which aims to have a significant impact on how the firm defines and delivers quality in its audit and assurance work.
