Remedy Education is currently recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant on behalf of a lovely Lewisham Primary School where you will work with small groups of children, or on a one-to-one basis.

The school is looking to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant after the February half-term until Easter initially. This is a full-time role 8:30am-3:30pm Monday - Friday

The role of a Teaching Assistant is particularly important in Early Years as children's individual strengths and weaknesses can be identified most easily; therefore the school is looking for an individual who will be keen to build purposeful and positive relationships with the children to nurture their natural curiosity and essential learning.

Your role as an Early Years Teaching Assistant:

• Helping children who are in need of additional support with their work
• Providing support to children with learning disabilities, learning difficulties or other learning requirements
• Helping children to develop independent learning skills
• Helping with emotional and social support
• Listening to, and helping children read
• Encouraging and motivating children
• Administrative duties such as photocopying, collecting work, tidying up, setting up equipment, or putting up displays

What you need to be considered as an Early Years Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children or young adults
• A Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualification (desirable)
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure
• Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references, covering the last 2 years, including your most recent education reference
• Have a full and complete 10-year career history
• Legal right to work in the UK
