Job description
About the employer: Employer is a mum and carer for her children, both have additional needs, and she has physical health problems
Main duties:
Supporting with getting the children ready for school, including personal care such as teeth cleaning, bathing, dressing, changing nappies, assisting with feeding, therapy
Domestic duties including but not limited to loading/ unloading dishwasher, laundry, changing beds, hovering, meal preparation, general tidying
Shopping
Support with accessing the community, social and leisure activities
Duties vary from day-to-day.
Maximum 15.5 hours per week
Holidays on a pro rata basis
Paid on a four weekly basis by Stockton Borough Council (Direct payments)
Essential Skills:
Honest, reliable, trustworthy, flexible and punctual.
Patient, supportive, compassionate and caring.
Good listening and observation skills and be able to provide non-judgemental emotional support.
A genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
Must be comfortable with cats.
Applicant must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Desirable skills:
Awareness of food hygiene/ allergy procedures
Full, clean UK drivers’ licence, be over 25 for insurance purposes, happy to drive an automatic vehicle.
Previous caring experience is not essential
