GAP are bringing you some fantastic opportunities and this role is no different. Our Payroll department have a vacancy for a Payroll Assistant to join them.

As the company grows, our payroll department is also growing. As a Payroll Administrator, you will be a key part to the department offering essential payroll administration support to our 90+ depots, head office, warehouses and distribution centres. Ensuring all employees are paid on time is pivotal and being able to confidently deal with any questions/queries in a timely manor is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all payroll data for the Payroll Bureau to include new starters, leavers, maternity & paternity leave etc.
• Administer and export data from T&A system in preparation for import into Sage
• Check weekly clock cards resolving issues with department heads where needed
• NMW/NLW and NI checks and amendments
• Check and process all mileage and expense claims submitted to payroll for payment
• Monitoring the payroll inbox assisting with general enquiries ensuring a timely response
• Deal with payroll queries

Skills and experience

• 2 years’ experience within a payroll / administration role
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, outlook etc
• Able to work under pressure to deadlines set
• Ability to work within a team aswell as working under your own initiative
