Support Practitioner

Cornerstone

Ellon, Aberdeenshire | United Kingdom

Job description

Looking for a new part-time job filled with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? We're looking for people like you!

Our amazing #TeamArnha in Ellon are on the lookout for caring and enthusiastic new colleagues who have a great sense of humour to join them on a part-time (16-25 hours per week) and relief basis.

The Role

You'll become part of a friendly, fun team who support three gentlemen to live in their own home. The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. Your main aim will be supporting the gentlemen's day to day needs, including shopping, finances, cooking, housework, personal care and medication.

We're looking for you to take a keen interest and participate in the gentlemen's hobbies which include; swimming, going for walks, drives in the car, cooking & baking, crafting, puzzles and games.

About you

You don't need experience in care as a Support Worker to start your career with us; we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification too!

All we’ll need you to bring is;

A caring and compassionate attitude
The ability to work well in a team
Good communication and organisational skills
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Confidence in the use of computers
The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too!)
Confidence to support in the water as swimming is a regular activity

The gentlemen do have their own mobility cars, so it would be great if you also have a full, clean UK driving license, but this isn't a dealbreaker for the right candidates.

Shift patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible shift patterns will include early mornings, days and evenings with sleepovers, weekends and public holidays also forming part of your rota on a rotational basis.

Our sleepover shifts don't form part of your contracted hours, so you'll receive an additional payment of £87 for each sleepover shift you work!

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

We are looking to fill these vacancies as soon as possible and hold the right to close our advert early if we find suitable candidates before the closing date. Please apply early to avoid disappointment.

Have any questions? If you'd like to find out more, please contact Linda Lowe on 01358 723192.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase the diversity of our workforce.
