Job description
My client in the Kingston area, is part of a very highly recognised optical group with high standards and a strong presence in the local community with a very good reputation for quality and customer service.
They are now looking to take on an Optometrist, team player, professionally driven, to work alongside the group of driven professionals with flexibility of working at least one weekend day per week.
This practice has one of the most supportive teams, (team of forty with both full time and part time), whether that be from Optical Assistants through to Owners / Directors, there will always be someone to make you smile if you are feeling down! The Directors are all for progression whether you would like to further your professional knowledge with extra accreditation courses, which most of the Optometrists have done.
They have 6 test rooms, a mixture of short and long form rooms, with the latest tech at your disposal.
They have a comfortable 25-minute testing time and have an experienced support team who will take care of all the pre-testing for you.
The practice is fitted out with all the latest equipment coupled with it being a very comfortable environment to be in for both the client and the team.
Size of team is 40 inc. Lab & admin staff and they all contribute to a working environment that is very friendly.
Trading Hours of practice Hours:
Monday – Friday 9?am-6?pm, Saturday 9?am-5:30?pm & Sunday 10?am-4:30?pm
OK, enough about the client, let’s look at the role.
Optometrist Position They are the major opticians in the Kingston area and servicing both private and NHS clients and offering a good range of lenses and frames to suit all budgets. They now require a GOC registered optometrist to test to 25 minutes and comfortable occasionally doing contact lens work.
They have good public transport links and parking is discounted at £4 pd or on street parking within brisk walking distance, or if you prefer to let someone else do the driving, good public transport links are available.
The role will be delivering eye tests to a high standard with some contact lens work undertaken. You will be expected to make recommendations to patients who will then be passed on to the support team in your handover.
Requirements of the Optometrist You will be GOC registered and full CET accredited and have sound clinical skills and strong commercial awareness.
They are open to all levels of experience as long as you are eligible to supervise. Being commercial aware and solid clinical skills are a pre-requisite. You will have a friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic. A customer focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
They are offering a competitive salary package with a basic of up to £40-45,000 for Newly Qualified to 2 years & £55-65,000 for the more experienced of you.
They do operate a bonus scheme to further enhance your earnings and all professional fees paid. You will also have the opportunity for ongoing personal development.
