Job description

Reporting to the Consumer Duty Programme Team, this is an ideal role for someone who wants to join a fast-paced programme team working to update products and processes in adherence to the FCA’s Consumer Duty Regulations over travel, motor, and home insurance areas. This role is initially being offered on a fixed term contract until the end of 2024 and attracts a base salary up to 35k depending on experience.
The role will support and assist the Programme team in updating and completing several varying business processes relating to products and their distribution. Including –

reviewing policy wording,
updating product withdrawal processes,
updating fair value assessments to consider potential harm and vulnerable customers, and
following frameworks to assess product health and distribution compliance,

There will be particular focus on product governance and regulatory change activity, and so a passion for ‘customer first’ is essential, as well an ability to analyse data. The role will also support on working group sessions to contribute to the Programme planning and RAID items (supported by a project manager) to continually inform business sponsors of programme progress and any blockers or escalations.

Supporting the Consumer Duty Programme Team (and specifically the Product Workstream) with updates to products and services based on the consumer duty regulations, including:

Regulatory change implementation. This could include, naming a few examples: policy document review and amendments, sales journey review and amendments and data and market analysis.
Product governance and distribution oversight administration. This will involve working with the Product and Proposition Manager and Commercial Governance Manager on product reviews and distribution reviews.
Customer and market research. Desk-based research, survey analysis, competitor benchmarking, focus groups and externally commissioned research to inform the business and product direction.
Project management support and administration. Identifying risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies; contributing to planning and forecasting the completion of work; escalating any blockers and completing status reports.
