We have an exciting opportunity within our therapy team as we look to appoint an Occupational Therapist within our expanded Neurological Care Centre in Aberdeen. Your role will provide an occupational therapy service by assessing, implementing (by self or therapy assistant) and evaluating programmes of care as part of the multi-disciplinary team.

About us:
Dee View Court in Kincorth, Aberdeen, is currently Scotland's only purpose-built specialist neurological centre providing care for people living with complex neurological conditions, including Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injuries.

Our newly expanded Neurological Care centre has 36 single bedrooms available for residential care and 6 supported living apartment for one person, which has a kitchen and a lounge to help people maintain their independence for as long as possible.

About the role:
•The role will be expected to work effectively with the Therapy team and the nursing teams and the wider MDT
•To assess service user needs and to develop an appropriate person centred treatment programme to meet individual needs
•Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals in the planning and delivery of occupational therapy
•Apply specialised knowledge and research to initiate innovative clinical projects that counter occupational risk factors and maintain function and quality of life
•To assume clinical responsibility for the management of a specific caseload

About you:
•Diploma / BSC (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (OT)
•Registered with Health and Care Professionals Council
•Relevant post graduate training in appropriate speciality
•Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
•Experience of working in a relevant setting
•Use of evidence based practice
•Specialist knowledge and application of OT assessments and interventions using expert level clinical reasoning
•An ability to work autonomously and to set own and others’ priorities
•An ability to confidently assess and manage risk in relation to occupational performance
•An ability to organise, co-ordinate and respond efficiently to complex information
•Knowledge of relevant legislation and its impact on current practice

Membership of PVG scheme is a requirement.

Later this year The Disabilities Trust will take over the ownership of Sue Ryder’s four neurological services, including Dee View Court, Aberdeen and all staff employed by Sue Ryder at that service will transfer to The Disabilities Trust.

The Disabilities Trust supports people with acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities and other neurological conditions and the acquisition of Sue Ryder's neurological services is a natural extension to the services the Trust currently provides. ???????? - Urban Practice #J-18808-Ljbffr
