Join the Leading Christmas Pudding Producer as Factory General Manager!
Are you ready to lead a renowned factory operation and drive excellence in production? Matthew Walker, the UK's top Christmas pudding manufacturer, is seeking a dynamic Factory General Manager to oversee our esteemed Heanor site. About Matthew Walker and the Role:
- A Festive Tradition: With decades of experience, Matthew Walker is the household name for Christmas puddings, dominating the market with our delectable offerings. Beyond the festive season, we produce steamed sponges year-round, supplying the UK retail market with excellence.
- Your Mission: Reporting to the Operations Director, you'll lead the Heanor Factory, driving operational performance through the implementation of GMP and lean techniques. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our reputation as an ethical and progressive employer in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership Excellence: Set clear manufacturing objectives, inspire your team, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Financial Mastery: Develop and manage site budgets, drive cost-saving initiatives, and deliver profit improvement plans.
- People Management: Ensure effective resourcing, develop strong working relationships, and champion employee development and engagement.
- Operational Excellence: Drive right-first-time manufacturing, oversee capex projects, and ensure compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Customer Focus: Meet customer demand, develop long-term relationships, and maintain high service levels.
Qualifications

- Experience in FMCG food manufacturing, supply chain, and multi-site operations is essential, along with strong influencing and communication skills.
