Ideal Recruit are working with a leading logistics organisation in Skelmersdale who are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and professional Business Development Manager to join the team on a full time, permanent basis
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving business growth by promoting and selling a range of services within the industry. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to generate leads, conducting market research to identify new opportunities, and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to promote and sell services, aligning with overall business objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through various channels such as networking, cold calling, and industry events.
- Generate leads through proactive outreach efforts and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of market trends.
- Implement effective sales processes and techniques to increase productivity and maximise sales conversions.
- Utilise cost calculation methods to tailor customer rates and proposals effectively, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Operations and Customer Service, to ensure seamless delivery of services and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and achievement of sales targets.
- Generate and distribute specific reports as required to track sales performance and provide insights for improvement.
- Analyse market data and sales metrics to identify opportunities for growth and enhancement.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development within the logistics industry.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving high–volume sales targets in a fast–paced environment.
- Strong relationship–building skills with the ability to foster rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of CRM tools and proficiency in sales processes and techniques.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel as needed.
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check.
