Job description

We are looking for a permanent head chef for Indian takeaway who provides specialist Gujarati food and also a specialist in Indian sweets which are cooked fresh for our customers.

The head chef will mainly be responsible for the following tasks-

• To ensure that all the Indian food is freshly prepared and the food standards are met to its highest standard.
• The whole responsibility for the kitchen’s daily operations and supervising junior kitchen staff.
• To prepare from only high-quality authentic Indian raw materials, herbs and spices, and to give new ideas to Indian curry dishes in its traditional way.
• Liaising with the relevant companies for food orders.
• Introducing new dishes and menus.
• Monitoring and controlling stock levels and inventory.
• Ensuring correct stock rotation procedures are followed.
• Preparing the work schedule for all kitchen staff.
• Possesses the unique curry taste for our customers.
• Experience in both curry and Indian sweets menu.
• Monitoring portions and waste control.
• A deep understanding of authentic Indian parathas and pure vegetarian curry dishes.
• Capacity to work under pressure during the extremely busy period.
• Should be accredited with a certificate of level 2 food safety & health and safety.
