Job description

Headway Thames Valley is a registered charity helping people to live life after brain injury in Berkshire and South Oxfordshire. We are seeking a volunteer treasurer to join our team of trustees.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking individuals with a passion to make life better for those living with a brain injury. We have a strong established team responsible for day to day finance and accounting, but we would like to add a trustee with specific accountancy skills to act as treasurer, to help us provide a strategic steer to the organisation.

Previous experience as a Charity Trustee is not essential as a full induction and ongoing support will be provided. Likewise, we would prefer an applicant with formal accountancy qualification and relevant experience, but a strong understanding of business finance would be sufficient for the right candidate.

• A commitment to understanding brain injury and its effects on survivors and family members

We would prefer an applicant with formal accountancy qualification and relevant experience, but a strong understanding of business finance would be sufficient for the right candidate.

What difference will you make?

The board of trustees are responsible for providing oversight and governance to the organisation, as well as contributing ideas and getting involved in the charities activities. 

As a trustee, you will play a critical role in ensuring that Headway Thames Valley achieves its core purpose, providing guidance and governance oversight in all aspects of the strategic management and operation of the charity.
