Are you a detail-oriented Calibration Engineer with a passion for innovation and want to be part of bringing cutting-edge projects to life? Cosworth is recruiting for Calibration Engineers to support our Engineering department, based in Northampton. As part of this role, you will also be required to travel to other sites such as Millbrook Proving Ground.
The Role:
- Take responsibility for delivering engine and vehicle calibration work packages.
- Working on site at Northampton for test bed activities and off site to support UK based vehicle calibration.
- Overseas (Europe and US) testing and validation trips. Potential requirements for frequent and extended travel.
- Capable of managing own time / planning activities and some limited supervision and training of more junior colleagues.
- Ensure that quality of work is compatible with the standards required within Cosworth and that all relevant standards are abided by.
- In addition to the above, the Senior Calibration Engineer will be expected to fulfil any other reasonable requirement consistent with departmental objectives.
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
- Demonstrable experience in and genuine enthusiasm for high performance gasoline engine and vehicle calibration. Emissions and OBD specialism would be desirable.
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualification.
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the operating principles of the internal combustion engine.
- Able to interpret technical information to generate a logical series of actions based on the implementation of sound engineering practice.
- Able to communicate effectively on a technical level with engineers, both within and external to Cosworth. This includes the compilation of written reports and oral communications.
- Have a good understanding of commonly used office software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Able to organise own workload in an effective manner.
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to improving skills through relevant training and experience.
- Have a passion for engineering and problem solving.
