Senior Practitioner

Staffordshire County Council

Location

Stafford, Staffordshire | United Kingdom

Job description

This is a fabulous opportunity to work within a passionate, creative, supportive, and highly motivated team who make a real difference, whilst also being part of developing and shaping the service.

The Intensive Prevention Service is part of Futures Matters and we support children who are on the edge of care to remain living at home, and we support young people to return home following a period being cared for by us. The underpinning methodology is solution focussed drawing upon relationship and strength-based models of intervention targeted to meet the specific needs of the family.

As a Senior Practitioner you’ll offer management support and supervision to the Futures Matters Intensive Family Support Workers. You maybe required to screen and triage referrals into the service offering high challenge/high support.

The Intensive Family Support Workers are responsible for working with young people (8-18 years of age) and their parents to develop a tailored package of support, drawing upon other resources within the team as appropriate.

The Family Support Workers all have differing skill sets, areas of expertise for example NVR, CBT, PACE and are knowledge in delivering a variety of evidenced based interventions from the suite of resources that are available to the team. We also have Young Persons Substance Misuse Worker seconded in to the team. This means we can engage the right support and external services, in a tailored way, to suit the needs of each young person and their family.

This is a 12 month fixed term position.I am happy to discuss and consider flexible working patterns that could meet the business need and our offer to the districts to prevent children entering and exiting our care.

For a informal discussion and to discuss flexible working possibilities please contact Kirsten Booth on 07815 999 066
