Setting Out Engineer
Fareham, Hampshire
Day Rate £350
Duration 8 Weeks – Starting Monday 24th July.

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a regional contractor who is searching for a Setting Out Engineer to be site based in Fareham, Hampshire.
As Site Engineer you will be responsible for setting out roads, kerbs etc on a residential scheme based in Fareham.
The successful Setting out Engineer or Site Engineer must possess good communication skills, extensive knowledge in all aspects of Groundwork's, and have the ability to work using their sole initiative, setting out new dwellings, road and boundaries as required by the Production team.
Essential Requirements
- Own Equipment (Robotic Total Station)
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Suitable Engineering Degree or similar Qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant
- engineering discipline.
- Valid CSCS
- SMSTS/SSSTS (Preferred)
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Using designs and plans to mark out elements of the site as required.
- Working as part of the technical team liaise with site teams and alongside architects, construction managers, engineers, sub-contractors, supervisors, and surveyors.
- Setting out for new foundations, brickwork, retaining walls, deep drainage, landscaping, plot layout, access roads and fence lines.
- Completing detailed topographical surveys and formatting drawings in a clear legible way to the agreed layering system and to the relevant plotting style.
- Produce earthwork models and isopachyte drawings showing extent of cut/fill and associated parameters.
- Complete as built overlays and provide report comparison against original design.
- Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
Key Skills
- Experience with setting instruments such as robotic Total Station, other EDM and GPS.
- General computer software skills including Microsoft Office.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and modelling software such as lSS.
- Report preparation skills.
