Job description
Are you an experienced Teacher looking for an opportunity to work in a Special School? Do you have experience teaching children with special educational needs?
An ‘Outstanding’ Special School in Wakefield is seeking a SEN Teacher to support one of their classes. The school caters for children aged 5 to 13 with complex learning needs, communication barriers and challenging behaviour. They are looking for a SEN Teacher to join them on a temporary basis from after the February half term until the end of the academic year.
As a SEN Teacher, your roles and responsibilities will be:
* To plan and deliver stimulating lessons which will enhance the pupils’ learning and fulfil the requirements of the curriculum.
* To protect the well-being of the children and ensure their needs and requirements are met by Teachers and Support Staff during school hours.
* To observe, assess and support the pupils with their personal and educational development.
* To assess the progress of the pupils and communicate with parents/guardians feedback on their academic performance.
Previous experience of working as a Teacher in a special school is desired to evidence your expertise in supporting children and young people with special education needs and disabilities.
