With the busy traffic across our city, it takes a special type of person to stop the traffic so pedestrians can cross the road safely. School Crossing Patrols are highly valued by our schools and communities.
To help us to achieve this we are looking to hear from reliable, enthusiastic members of the community to promote Road Safety on behalf of Salford Council. This is a key role that is vital for community safety.
Previous experience is not necessary, full training and uniform will be provided.
About the role
The role includes assisting children and adults safely across the road at a designated location, when they are travelling to and from school. You will look out for potential hazards or dangers near the crossing area and help educate children on road safety issues. Following health and safety guidelines, you will report any defects at the crossing point to a Road Safety Officer.
What we need from you:
If you have lived or worked abroad for 3 months or more in the last 5 years or 12 months or more (whether continuously or in total) in the last 10 years whilst aged 18 or over, please refer to the link below for details for how to obtain your Certificates of Good Character.

You will be welcomed into a friendly environment where your personal and professional development will be encouraged and you will have the opportunity to work and grow in a values based organisation where people are at the heart of everything we do. We promote a positive permission culture, empowering you to make a difference.
