Job description

Ringway Jacobs design, create and maintain world-class, safe, efficient and environment-friendly highway infrastructure for local authorities, drawing upon expertise from global partners to complement our own extensive resources and capability. Reporting to the Head of HR, this role will support two of our business areas: Cheshire East Highways and Corporate Services. This is a busy role that will utilise your skills and knowledge to deliver a generalist HR service that spans a range of activities, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice. The HR team is a business enabler and successful service delivery will mean working closely with all stakeholders (business, employees, and other corporate functions).

The Role

- Become a trusted advisor to the Contract Director, Corporate Leads and their senior leadership teams on all people matters, to guide, influence and support the achievement of their strategic objectives.
- Attend regular management meetings to positively contribute to the objectives of the business by identifying and developing strategies aimed at enhancing staff engagement, satisfaction, and wellbeing.
- Utilise robust management information and high-quality reporting and planning to inform decision-making and action plans.
- Manage and advise on a broad range of ER cases, to include performance, grievance and disciplinary issues, working closely with line managers to support with more challenging issues when they arise.
- Support with the design and delivery of people management training to ensure that all managers have the skills and confidence to deal with people issues as they arise.
- To support the shaping of future HR service provision, through delivery of HR strategic objectives to ensure consistency across all business areas.

- CIPD Level 3 qualification
- In depth up to date knowledge of Employment Law and its practical application
- Intermediate level of expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel (including mail merge/VLOOKUP/pivot tables)
- Previous experience of using HR systems
- Understanding of data protection and working within a confidential environment
- Happy to travel to Cheshire weekly
