Solutions Design is a critical function where success is dependent on working effectively with many other departments such as Operations, Business Development, IT and Finance across all levels.

We currently have an opening within our Solutions Design team for an experienced Solutions Design Manager . We require an individual who has proven track record in the designing and implementation of Operational Warehousing solutions. You will act as the subject matter expert in this area, working with multiple functions, both internally and externally, to provide bespoke warehouse solutions that meet the customers' requirements and support the DHL growth performance agenda.

As a Solutions Design Manager, you will lead multiple work streams and manage the early design principles and assumptions, project risks and issues, detailed design phase, as well as implementation support.

Solution Designers are at the forefront of industry best practice and this knowledge will allow you to benchmark and validate supply chain solutions. In conjunction, you will also conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing to future proof designs. During this process, the role holder will provide support, coaching and guidance to junior team members to support team growth and development.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will be responsible for:

• Design end-to-end manual and mechanised operational solutions covering the following areas:
  • Data analysis (using either MS Excel or Power BI to an expert level)
  • Process flow creation
  • Equipment selection (including technologies)
  • Operational methodology selection
  • Layout design (using (Autocad or Sketch-up)
  • Resource modelling
  • Cost modelling
• Design-end to-end solutions with automation / robotics with senior support and coaching.
• Ability to self –manage workload and timescales.
• Demonstrate excellent customer engagement skills.
• Use influencing skills with stakeholders for example to gain operational buy in on a solution.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills for example keeping stakeholders engaged and informed.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Knowledge of divisional supply chain products and capabilities, with an understanding of DHL sectors, customers, and products.
• Understanding of the end-to-end supply chain experience.
• Previous experience in a role equivalent to a Solutions Design Manager or Warehouse Solutions Designer.
• Experience in:
  • Modelling, extrapolating and interpreting data.
  • Finding solutions to problems and defining your own concepts.
  • Being able to break processes down into their individual elements and to look for ways to drive increased efficiency / improved service.
  • Working in an environment, where you take ownership of your projects and manage stakeholders.
