Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medical Staffing Team for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to undertake the post of Medical Staffing Admin Apprentice.

The post holder should have excellent interpersonal skills, energy, drive and enthusiasm to compliment the Medical Staffing Team.

You will need to possess good written communication skills, pay attention to detail and have the ability to produce accurate correspondence.

Please be advised if you are a ‘Non-UK National’ applicant you must meet the eligibility criteria and fulfil the settlement requirements of the apprenticeship course funding. Your settlement status will need to be verified as eligible for funding by the relevant apprenticeship provider in order for you to formally enrol on the course.

The training provider will require evidence of:

  1. Remaining length of visa which covers the duration of the course
  2. Minimum 3 years residing in the UK (pre-enrolment onto apprenticeship)

Pay for this role is ANNEX 21 starting salary is £17,035, increasing to £18,252 after first 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The role of the medical staffing administration apprentice is to provide a customer-focused and efficient administration service to the Medical and Dental Human Resources team.

This role will involve carrying out a range of administrative tasks relating to Medical HR, but particularly linked to post graduate junior doctors. 

The role requires excellent attention to detail, communication skills and a strong focus on customer service.  You will have the ability to work with, and improve, existing processes and systems.   

With rapidly changing priorities this will require the ability to use your initiative, to manage your own workload and work under pressure.

You will have excellent keyboard and IT skills together with experience of effective use of Excel and Word.  

The apprentice will complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship qualification to learn the necessary skills needed to be an administrator. Link to the apprenticeship standard can be found HERE

Working for our organisation

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
