A genuinely outstanding opportunity to join one of the most refreshingly pragmatic GP Training Practices in the area.
Small but very tight-knit, team fit is incredibly important and you’ll join a very cohesive team of GPs, outstandingly supported by an MDT including Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Techs, MSK Practitioner and Mental Health Practitioners (both adult and young persons).
The role has come about through retirement, with GP retention and staff retention in general very strong across the practice.
The practice has one of the highest rates of F2F appointments in Somerset and their access remains strong, despite very reasonable session templates.

Drawings – c£125,000-135,000 – in line with national averages

Location – Taunton, easily accessible from M5

The surgery –

• Well-established GP Training Practice also hosting medical students
• Moderately deprived demographic mainly consisting of young families
• Geared towards reducing GP workload
  • Robust workflow processes minimising documents
  • A common-sense approach to Duty and what’s manageable
• Outstanding patient scores – 96-98% of patients recommend the surgery
• Coffee break every morning in their lovely staff room
• Very supportive of interests – minor surgery, mental health and elderly care all top their wishlist

Your role –

• GP Partner (happy to consider 6-12 month mutual assessment)
• List-holding to promote continuity
• 4-6 sessions
• Just 12 patients per session
  • 15-minute appointments
• Only 18 contacts on a Duty day!
  • They appreciate that seeing patients that are not your own can take longer and involve more history taking, hence the lower number of contacts
• Flexibility around days and start/finish times
• Minimal home visits
• Using EMIS Web
