Are you a passionate, dedicated Residential Childcare Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting 5 Residential Childcare Officer's, both day and night workers, to be placed on a rota to cover shifts across children’s homes in Cardiff.
Duration: 04/03/2024 – 4 months initially
Hours: Rota basis – 8 – 12 hour shifts (rotas will be organised weekly)
Residential Childcare Officer role: Full JD Available
- Implementation, monitoring and recording of individual Placement Plans
- Providing direct care and effective support to young people to enable them to achieve positive outcomes in line with their childcare personal plan
- Supporting children to meet their individual needs and overcome challenges
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Recognise and promote young people’s individuality, uniqueness and diverse needs whilst providing a nurturing and positive environment
- Attending to the personal physical health of the young people, including personal care as and when needed
- Actively supporting the education plans for children including homework, project work and revision
- Encourage reading and the intellectual development by encouraging them
- Make positive links with schools and attend parents evenings etc
- Develop, participate and support young people in recreational and leisure activities
- Household cleaning and maintenance duties, and preparation of meals
- Transportation of young people where necessary
- Build trusting working relationships
- Keep and maintain records of work done, providing relevant reports where needed
- Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary, advocating for the young people
- UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
- Registered with Social Care Wales as a Residential Childcare Officer
- Experience working with children/ young people in a social care setting
- Patience, empathy and caring nature
- Can-do attitude, willing to go above and beyond for the young people in your care
- Willing to learn and share experiences, skills and knowledge
- Enhanced Child DBS registered to the update service
