Teaching assistants are an essential part of the classroom, in order to help with their educational and social development, both in and out of the classroom for those who need extra support. In secondary schools, Teaching assistants are often known as classroom assistants/teaching assistants or Teaching assistants.
The roles and responsibilities of Teaching assistants are varied and differ between schools, but the general role of a Teaching assistant in Oxted will involve:
* Assisting SEN children who need extra support within the classroom
* Preparing the classroom for lessons
* Offering 121 support within the classroom, to help children reach their full potential
* Helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
* Supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
