What you’ll be doing

The Town Planner will play a key role in Urban Intelligence’s continued innovation through successful planning and execution of client projects. Close collaboration with both the Planning and Product teams will ensure seamless service for clients.

You will liaise directly with clients, using your insight and planning expertise to intimately understand the challenges and help them to realise the solutions using the unique technology created by Urban Intelligence. As clients continue their journey with us, you will be their main point of contact providing guidance and ensuring their satisfaction.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting R&D projects as part of the product development work which Urban Intelligence regularly undertakes.

Essential

• At least a year of experience working directly or indirectly with local authority planning in England or Wales
• Sound knowledge of planning methodologies
• Demonstrable understanding of the planning process from both public and private perspectives
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven project management ability (qualification not essential)

Desirable

• Aspiring Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)
• Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis 
• Experience of successfully completing a local plan examination
• Experience of drafting and preparing tender documents and bids
• Ability to manage a budget
• Commercial savviness and an ability to demonstrate credibility with clients in an engaging manner
• A passion for troubleshooting and finding creative solutions
• Initiative to become a subject-matter expert in Urban Intelligence’s products
• A keen interest in planning-related technologies.
