JOB TITLE: Shopping Centre Security Officer

REPORTING TO: Duty Manager

LOCATION: The Centre, Livingston

HOURS: 42 hours per week, 5 over 7

PAY RATE: £10.98 per hour

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

This is a permanent, full-time contract. Both SIA and CCTV licenses are required, or willing to undertake a CCTV license course. 

The role is based at The Centre, Livingston. It is a fast-paced shopping centre over 1 million sq. ft. Currently, home to more than 155 of the UK’s best Brands including Primark, JD, M&S, River Island, and H&M. With this in mind, we are looking to appoint a proactive Security Officer to maintain a safe and secure shopping environment for all our customers and staff.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Candidate requirements:  

• Enjoy working part of a team as well as the ability to work independently to reach the shared goal. 

• Good communication skills both written and verbal to assist with accurate report writing. 

• Excellent time management 

• Smart, well-groomed and confident 

• Conflict Management aware 

• High level of customer care awareness 

• Telephone skills 

• Familiar with patrolling and monitoring from a loss prevention aspect 

• SIA Door Supervisor/Security Guard licence 

• SIA CCTV licence 

Health & Safety Responsibilities:  

• Conduct daily/weekly/monthly duties in line with the SIA license training courses to ensure the centre is safe and compliant in all aspect of health & safety
• Confident in complying with health & safety and fire prevention procedures 
• Take an active role in emergency situations including Fire Warden tasks 
• Oversee external contractor management to ensure they are working safely 
• Always follow ABM Group and company policies and procedures 
• Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment 
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received 
• Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system
